Zeetjalk Horizon is an attractively decorated historical ship and has its permanent berth in the port of Wijk bij Duurstede. From the ship you have a view of the mill, the typical Dutch houses along the harbour and of course the river Lek with its variety of water birds and natural splendor. 

The ship is 22.8 meters long and 5.3 meters wide and has a living area of about 100 m²! With 6 persons you can stay here comfortably. Everything you need is on board!

After your booking via airbnb, we will arrange a time after 15:00 at the Horizon to welcome you and hand over the key. Because a ship is not the same as a standard house, you will get a short tour. Immediately after that you will have Horizon all to yourself! Once you are on board, you can relax immediately because a number of practical things are always present, like coffee, milk, tea, sugar, wood for the stove and of course a nice bottle of wine.

For children, too, it is a special experience to stay on a real ship with two of those towering masts! Children are very welcome, as long as they have excellent swimming skills and are older than 7 or 8 years. The bedroom in the front with two separate beds is a magical place for kids to sleep! However, we would like to point out your responsibility as parents and emphasize that you should always pay extra attention on board the ship.  Let them always step on and off the ship quietly and not run over the deck or through the ship. When it rains, the ship and the jetty can be slippery.
